AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism

Calculus-based physics: electrostatics, circuits, magnetic fields, electromagnetism

What you'll learn

Use calculus to analyze electrostatics (Coulomb’s law, electric fields, Gauss’s law) and compute electric potential/energy.

2. Solve circuit problems using differential equations where needed (RC circuits, steady-state DC, power) and apply Kirchhoff’s rules.

3. Calculate magnetic fields and forces from currents and moving charges using core laws (Biot–Savart/Ampère’s law, Lorentz force).

4. Apply electromagnetic induction (Faraday’s/Lenz’s law) to determine induced emf, currents, and the direction/magnitude of effects.
